MN Valley Community Band
concert-goers can expect to hear music of stage and screen, as well as the
traditional favorites such as the "Stars and Stripes
Forever". This band is made up of 40 plus dedicated
members from Chaska and surrounding communities who enjoy playing for
the public. The band was formed in the summer of 1986 and has
entertaining since then. Bring your favorite lawn chair or picnic blanket and
enjoy Chaska's version of the "Boston Pops!" Barry

"Minneapolis Commodores" All male Acappella barbershop
chorus of over 50 members that is sure to delight all! The chorus has won 14
gold medals in Land O' Lakes District competition and has earned the right to
compete in international chorus competitiion 16 times, most recently in
Anaheim, CA in 2009. Bring a picnic blanket or folding chair to enjoy

"Centered"- Teen/Young Adult Entertainment Live:
Saturday Night
City Square
Plaza (next to the library.) A 6 member band from Chaska
performing cover music of 'A Day to Remember' and other bands of that genre
and also performing original music. Come enjoy, hangout and bring your
friends. It should be a straight-edge time!

- A perfect way to top off a great week-end of activities of River City
Days. Performing their annual concert at the Chaska High
School auditorium.
Chaska Middle School Jazz
Ensemble, Garage Band, Movie Band and Stomp -
Plus Country Bluegrass Band performed by the Chaska HS - Come and listen to the
Chaska Middle School ensembles under
the direction of Eric Songer and co-director Heidi Songer. Country
Bluegrass Band will be performed by Chaska HS students.

Chaska's Got Talent Show -RCD style! Hosted by "World
Famous" (at least in his small world!) - Bob DeMaris. He has

worked with comedians Scott Hansen, Louis Anderson, Tom Arnold and

FAMILY BOWLING DAYS - Bring the whole family to Louisville
Lanes at 3020 133rd St (Shakopee) 2 games and shoe rental for

CHASKA SAFETY CAMP 2011 - This two-day program is designed to
give youth entering 3rs and 4th grade an opportunity for safety education in a
camp setting. Topics include: fire safety, bike safety, personal safety,
basic first aid and more. Presenters include local police, fire,
Ridgeview Ambulance, CCC lifeguards, DNR, canine Demo and special visit by the
State Patrol helicopter. Cost $25.00. Fee includes Lunch and
snacks, games and activities, Safety Camp T-shirt and more. Space is
limited. Register at the Chaska Police Department. Deadline July
1.

IN CITY SQUARE PARK and PRAISE FESTIVAL Sunday from 9:30 am
to 1:00 PM. Delicious hot breakfast served under the tent at the City
Square Park.
Cost: $5.00 for adult; $2.00 for Kids 5-12 and kids 4 and under
free. Also enjoy christian bands from area churches. Event is

the homeless, stray and abandoned animals in our foster-home based
program.
CHILDRENS
FISHING CONTEST - Saturday
at Clay hole Beach at Firemans Park. Registration is from 10:15 -
10:45am.
Contest starts at 10:45 and ends at 11:30am.
Bring your own poles and hooks- bait will be provided.
Parent supervision is required.
Prizes will be awarded for the first fish caught and the three
largest fish caught.
There will be other drawings as well.

KIDS/YOUTH PARADE - Decorate your bike, buggy, wagon or come dressed in your favorite costume or charactor and parade the sidewalks of City Square Center on Saturday at 12:15. Line up in front of Moravian Church on 4th St. at 12:00 noon. Sponsored by the Chaska Music Studios, Kindermusik of Chaska and The Preschool Place. All Prizes are donated by the Chaska Music Studio, Kindermusik of Chaska, and the Preschool Place. Participating children in the parade have a chance of a prize drawing. Each participant will receive a balloon donated by Westwood Church.

DEPARTMENT WATER FIGHTS - Saturday at 1pm.
Area fire fighters will battle for the River City Days Title.
This wet and wild exhibition is organized by the Chaska Fire
Department.

OF CHASKA COMMUNITY LIBRARY USED BOOK SALE - Used book sale will be held at
the City Hall Plaza on Thursday from 3pm to 8pm
Friday from 9am-8pm, and
Saturday from 9am-3pm.
Proceeds are used to enhance the Chaska Library and educational

LOCAL WRITERS GROUP 'READ ALOUD' - You can't sign a

Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido and other martial arts and weapons forms.
Performance by our demonstration team and students of other varied
styles.
YOGA AT MYSTIC JOURNEY - Join us in our yoga demonstration taught
by the instructors fro 'Yoga at Mystic Journey. All level abilities and
ages invited to participate!.
MARTIAL ARTS AMERICA - The family club will be demonstrating many facets of the martial arts, including: Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate), Jujitsu (a throwing/wrestling art), and Eskrima (Philippino stick fighting).
ATA AMERICAN - (American Tae Kwon Do) Students will demonstrate hand and foot techniques while emphasizing control, focus and confidence skills.

RIVER CITY RUN/Walk 2011- 5 K RUN OR 2 Mile Fun Walk - Saturday. Race/Walk starts at 7:30; Registration at 6:30am. 5 K course will start and end at or near the City Square Center. Trophies and Medals awarded. Proceeds to benefit the Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women. Pre-registration is recommended, but also can register on race day. COUPLES
GOLF SCRAMBLE - A golf scramble will be held at the Chaska Par 30 on
Sunday, July 31, 7am-4pm.
Green fees are $13.00 per person. (Pull cart included in fee).
Each team will consist of one man and one woman who play the best
of their two shots throughout the round, with 1st and 2nd place trophies
awarded.
